Plumbing service is as
essential to your residential or commercial building as water is to our body.
After all, plumbers make sure that water goes in and out of our houses in the
manner that they should. Without using this service, things in our homes and commercial
buildings will become chaotic, public health and sanitation will be
non-existent and we will most likely shoulder a high utility bill.
What are the types of plumbing services?
We can divide plumbing
services into two categories: Domestic and Industrial.
Domestic plumbing service is
pretty much what we are familiar with. When you think about it, every
household has experienced calling a plumber for a number of issues, like leaky
pipes, water not draining properly, a clogged toilet, and water heating not
working as it should.
Industrial plumbing service,
on the other hand, deals with plumbing issues on a much larger scale. For one
thing, the systems that have to be in place for a single household compared to
an oil refinery or even a thirty story building would be different. Plumbers
that work with industrial systems know all too well the complexities that go
into it. The materials and tools they work within industrial plumbing services
are expected to be more durable because of the heavy usage they handle on a
regular basis.
What are the basic types of residential plumbing services available today?
There are three basic types
of residential plumbing services – Inspection, Maintenance, and Repair.
There are a number of things
that a plumber covers during an inspection. A professional plumber will check
the drain pipes and their joints, flooring around the kitchen and bathroom,
your water utility bill compared to your usage for that particular month, and
even the color of the water coming out of the tap. Sometimes, something that
started out with one issue could affect different systems in your home, so a
thorough inspection is necessary in order to ensure that every problem within
the system is fixed.
Maintenance follows
inspection. If your plumber has discovered a part of the system that has been
neglected for some time, they will recommend the replacement of a particular
fixture to prevent potential problems from developing.
Most plumbers are called in
for the third type of service – Repair. Ideally, it would have been better off
for problems to be prevented with inspection and maintenance, but most of us
will honestly neglect those things until something happens. A professional
plumber is usually called in to handle bathroom repairs, leaky drains, clogged
toilets and sinks, and issues with the septic tank and outside plumbing.
